lightning motor in a fox?

This is my dream as well, An L engine would be so cool. I drove a new L and it was scary how well that truck pulled...and pulled...and pulled. With a 5 or 6 speed hooked up to it in a Stang would be extra sweetish.

5.4 is basically a tank. They had a picture of 2 guys picking up the back of the car off the ground with total ease because of how heavy the nose was.
Folks put FE engines in foxes, surely a 5.4 is not as heavy.

You've gotta remember...this is a DOHC 5.4 with a supercharger and intercooler on top of it, not to mention it's in a coupe which is nose heavy anyways. If you click the link above you'll find that they could barely get out of the 10s with it because they couldnt hook up even on slicks, because the car has hardly any weight transfer at all, and that they eventually have to add weight to the back end to get into the 9s.

I wasn't doubting ya, I was just wondering the weigh difference in a 460 and the 5.4

Actually i wouldnt be surprised if it isnt much different. Those are 2 pretty good sized guys, so i would imagine it can be done with a 460 car. I think the supercharger and intercooler add a pretty good amount of weight. Plus, don't you have to use a tubular K member with a 460 swap? I'm not sure but if that's the case, then the nose would be a bit lighter with a 460.

Like I said earlier it would be near impossible to swap the computer controlls as well. Just pick up a copy of "focus fanatic" and read about how much modification they had to do to change the wiring from a SVT cobra into a focus. It would be similar to this swap.

Yeah that coupe is stripped also...(I have article right here)...so that makes it easier to lift also...and that car probably doesn't have any gas it in yet or anything...while their completing the swap...
