ok, with the headlights off: no drivrs turn signal and passenger is ok but slow. with parking lights on: passenger is ok and slow and no drivers turn signal. with headlights on: no parking likghts and no front turning signals at all.

any suggestions???

First of all, I think the parking lights are supposed to go out when the headlights are on. That is how my friends 64.5 is as well as my 67 coupe. However, they are supposed to blink when the turn signals are on. I think 68 is the first year the parking lights stay on when the headlights are on.

I would check the turn signal switch. Check the connection at the bottom of the column. I would also pull the wheel to see what condition it is in. Maybe clean out the contacts. WHen I first started restoring my 67 coupe, the right rear tail light would never blink or brake. I tracked my problem to the turnsignal switch. I repaired the switch but it didn't last too long. I ended up replacing the switch and have not had a problem since. Good luck

I have a 68 coupe and my parking lights do not stay on when my headlights are on, they only blink when i use the turn signals

yes, the parking lights are supposed to go out when the headlights go on.

I also agree with 69grande and say check out the ground points. My lights did some really funny things when i had a bad ground on the passenger side by the radiator. Also i've seen trailer lights go nuts with a bad ground. Just locate the ground points and remove the screw that holds them in, use some light sandpaper to clean up the surface metal and then put the screw back in with maybe some conducting grease.

If that doesnt clear it up, get out the multimeter and some handy four-letter words. :D

ok we got everything working only thing the front parking lights goes out when you turn the headlights on i am being told thats the way it is ....... now is there way i can change that so they stay on??

Cobain03- I'm sure there is a way to change it so that they stay on, and its probably not really that hard, but i dont have a wiring diagram here to do it with. Just get a shop manual with the wiring diagram and custom wire it, if you really want them all on at once.

tigger.... what we found was the front turn light blub was not in all the way it wasn't turn so that the turn signal was getting contact,,, funny huhh,, the bac was the same way i guess some one doesn't know how to install bulbs the main thing was that i thgought the front park lights was supost to be on we change the headlight switch anyway the inst, lights work better the old one had a lot of cors.. on the little coil in it so thanks guys for all the help we hope we can be some help sometimes!!!

If you want the front park lights to stay on. Find the wire going to the rear tail lights at the headlight switch. and tie the wire from the front lights to it. That way they will all light together. :nice:

if you're going to go to the trouble of rewiring the parking lights to come on with the headlights, you might as well spend the extra 15 bucks and put in a relay system for the headlights, i did it to mine and it really makes a big difference in the amount of light you get from the headlights. very cheap, easy and effective mod.
