If you want lightweight front seats and are prepared to something a little different, take a look at my custom front seats in Interior Modifications

Weight savings were as follows:

Front seats alone (without tracks): 24lb
Manual driver's side seat track: 6lb
Custom rear seat delete: 30lb
Total: 60lb

Jeep Cherokee seats...interesting.

I was not aware the stock seats weighed that much, or that the Jeep seats are that light.

They also do not seem that far off, for being from different makers, from the factory beige color.

The Cherokee seats are the same width, height, and depth as the stock GT seats except each one is 12lb lighter even after you've welded extra brackets onto the seat bases to accept the Mustang seat tracks. They're surprisingly easy to modify and the seats are very comfortable. What's more, they come from another vehicle that's made in USA.

For me, the purchase cost plus the cost of shipping them to the UAE. I managed to do mine at a cost of only $217, and I'll probably recoup that by selling the GT seats to another Stanger.
