limping?

i just finished wiring in my sirius radio to the stereo and now the car won't start and run well. it will spit and stutter for twenty seconds and then shut down. if i'm in limp mode, how do i know. i have a reader that reads obd II, but it doesn't seem to work, do i need a newer reader to access the computer. any help would be appreciated.

disconnecting the battery will do this for some reason. it happened to me a few times while changing my head unit and amps. etc..... but after letting it run for a few, the computer seemed to "get it together" and no other problems occured

Go over your wiring again and make sure you haven't crossed anything or drawn power from something important, voltage drop can be a killer. Yes disconnecting your battery can cause idle and driving problems until the default settings in your PCM get adjusted to driving.
