I just bought a lincoln mark VIII Fan for my 92 gt. My question is how much do i have to trim to get it to fit? I'm afraid to trim to much because i don't want the fan to hit the radiator. And i do have a 3 core radiator on the car if that makes a differance.

Are you using a centri S/C? or is the car N/A?

My car is N/A with a brass 3 core radiator and I needed to trim off about 1/2" to get just enough clearance to install the fan to the right of the w/p pulley.

my car is n/a as well and i had to trim a little more then a 1/2 im running a griffen aluminum radiator 3 core as well....1/2 seems like a good number and when you mount it...buy some weather stripping to seal the shroud to the radiator.....good luck:nice:

All the trim does is seal the radiator shroud (or what's left of it) to the radiator surface. This way the fan pulls air through the radiator instead of pulling it from around the seams.

That being said, I am w/o seal and my trim job was not the cleanest. I have no issues cooling the car

i am not telling any1 that this trim is necessary at all....ur car will probly work fine its not gonna make the world of difference...i just did it to ease my mind al lil knowing i did the best most complete job i could with it...plus i live in Phoenix so every little this for the cooling system helps!!......for example is been over 110* here for the last 4 days and will only get hotter
