I'm just about to install my line lock. I have all the fittings and lines ready to go, but its going to be a P.I.T.A to install. Does anyone have any pics of their install? thanks in advance

I need some help here too. I do know that to be NHRA legal the lineloc has to go after the proportioning valve. And yes even after the stock one. I would like to see some other peoples set-ups though.

I actually know how to do it, its just such a tight squeeze that I wan'ted to see how some of you guys routed the new lines.

stang951, you need to disconnect the single line going to the bottom of your master cylinder. You need to plug the master cylinder. run the open line you just disconnected to one of the 'outputs' on the line lock solonoid.

next, disconnect one of the lines that goes to the bottom of your prop. valve (disconnect the line that runs to the right front wheel) You need to then run a new brake line from the prop valve itself to the 'input' on the line lock solonoid. finally, run a third new brake line from the open line that used to go to the prop valve to an 'output' port on the line lock solonoid.

If you have abs, then the instructions are slightly different. if you need them, i can post them.

anyways, still waiting for some pics. thanks again.

Actually I am doing a 95-98 booster and master cylinder swap at the same time. Havent tackled it yet due to the fittings and cash shortage. I wanted to see some other's routing as well, especially with the tight fit.

I was thinking of placing the unit in front of the shock tower because of the size of the booster, but then I would have to extend the brake lines, or use a 3-2 port conversion, and route a single line to and from the unit.

I thought the units had to be secured? I didn't know that they could dangle like that?

that was our first attempt at a linelock , it is bolted down with a bolt on the left side- it did work like a charm though- I ran 6.7 at 132km/h in 150 meters (I know its short but its all we got on this island!) - 391 hp 180sx SR20det with Nittos , Ive got a linelock burnout video if someone wants to host...

thanks for the pics.

I was actually going to replace the master cylinder also. I bench bled the cylinder, they when I went to remove the old one, I couldn't even get to one of the bolts - thats when I know it was going to be a p.i.t.a.

Well I just finished the install earlier this evening - actually it wasn't too bad. I had to buy some flare-nut wrenches and a tubing bender, but the installations was pretty simple - it just took a little time.

I had a small leak, but nothing that a little tightening didn't fix. I bled the brakes and all is fine.

thanks again guys.

by the way I highly recommend the hurst installation kit, AND the mustang fitting kit. the ford has metric fittings, and the roll control has SAE. if I had to figure all the adapters and unions I surely would have been screwed. the mustang fitting kit come with great instructions along with the diagram.

time to light-em-up.
