Line lock question

i bought the line lock and was thinking of going with a t handle shifer with the button on the side. my question is, while driving if i hit the button will it engage the line lock or is there a method to engage it.

Yeah, you have to be careful with that. if you accidentally hit the button you could lock your brakes, either on or off. what I mean is that if you are NOT applying your brakes and hit the button then the brakes will not work for that moment that the switch is hit (the linelock activated prevents fluid from flowing either into or out of the brakes).

If you are hitting the brakes and accidentally hit the button then the brakes will be on until the button is released.

My biggest problem is that I have a t-handle with a button in it - but I use that for the nitrous. I use the button that comes with the little rubber band, and I wrap that around my shifter handle. HOWEVER the button rattles while driving, and it drives me crazy, so I wedge a small piece of paper in it when not in use to prevent it from rattling. Sometimes I accidentally hit the button and because the cardboard is there the button gets stuck in the on position - again if the brakes are being applied at the time the brakes continue to work until I come to a stop or free the button -and likewise if the brakes are not being applied at the time the button gets stuck then the brakes don't work at all until the button is free.

The T-handle is nice, and the button doesn't rattle. Also it takes some effort to push that button so your not likely to activate it accidentally. Go with the button on the handle, the one with the kit is too easy to push and like I said before rattles like crazy.

Can you add a button for arming the system and then use the button to activate on both line lock and nitrous only when needed? I will add one to my line lock don't want to accidently press it when im driving..

Yes,

Both the arming switch and the button the handle need to be in series with one another. This way both of them have to be closed in order for the line lock to work.

exactly. Leave the arming switch off and you will have no problems if you accidentally hit the button on the shifter. Turn the arming switch on when you need to use the line lock.

Yeah, I also put a button in series (on the nitrous), so that even if I hit the nos button nothing happens unless the switch is also turned on.

I put my line lock button in the center console where the ashtray was. That way, it is covered until I need to use it. Obviously, if you smoke, this might not work for you.

Honestly I don't see the problem here. I have my line-loc on a t-handle. You can push the button all you want. Nothing will happen unless you have your foot on the brake and push the button. Then all it does is hold your front brakes on. You just take your thumb or finger off the button. If you were cruising down the rod at 80 mph and you hit the button nothing would happen. The nicest thing about them is starting on hills. You no long have to come off brake then clutch out while you roll backwards a bit. Just push brake hold onto lineloc button foot off brake and easy to start with feet on clutch and gas pedal.
