i am having difficulty getting my tires warm and doing an efficient burn out with my T5 so i was wondering was my only way to get my tires nice and hot down at the track was to have a line lock? or is there a trick that i am missing.

this is the product that i have found and considering B&M Launch Control - JEGS

You really shouldn't have any trouble getting the tires hot by power braking.
Just make sure you know what you are doing since you have a stick, you can land up looking like a real jackass.
Dump the clutch and go from clutch to brake with your left foot.

A line lock is a good choice though, i have a hurst roll control, but i didn't install it.

cool thanks for the links, i am definately going to consider doing this i think its the only way i am going to efficiently get the burn out's my automatic buddies get. i will continue practicing with the clutch dump and brake though.

burn out

the way i do a burnout with a standard shift, i hold brake with right toe and apply gas with right heel then let clutch out with left foot, then after tires smoke for a few seconds let off brake with toe and hold gas WFO.
