line up tool for clutch install necessary??

my new clutch disc didnt come with a line up tool. i am planning on installing the viper tranny tomorrow. do i have to have the line up tool to install the clutch or is there some other way to install it without one?

All the alignment tool does is line up the splines I believe - you should be able to do it without one.

yes u need one! if not you chance ruining your pilot bearing when installing the trans

ok i found where to get one....

next question is will my throw out bearing from my 3650 work with the viper input shaft? i know the viper shaft is 1 1/8" what size is the 3650?

You really do need to line one up, but a universal, cone shaped type tool is available inexpensively. You can also find an input shaft from a junk transmission and use that. This is what really works best.
