My car keeps blowing the seals out of radiator caps! Yes, i have an overflow tank! It seems to only do it on the bottle though! Could it be that the nitrous is finding a "weak spot" and seaping past the headgaskets into a waterjacket causing the preasure to sky rocket? Im not burning any or losing any coolant at all. Im kinda stumped on what to do? Maybe a higher PSI cap? The car will officially be down for the winter as of sunday (have one last race to attend this saturday)

I'd check the coolant to see if there are any combustion gases in it. Sounds like your pressurizing the coolant abnormally.
Thats what i was thinking. . . . but how is the question? I dont think im turning the water pump to hard or anything:shrug:

My thought is that some combustion gases are leaking past the headgasket into the cooling jackets. This seems odd that you aren't burning any coolant though. Do your temperatures look like they are getting high? I really hate coolant related problems, they always seem to stump me.
this is what im thinking, it just seems weird that its only doing this on the bottle. . . i guess i could do a leakdown and compression test

Is the surface perfect on the radiator neck? Once the system gets up to full pressure is when the leaks can occur.

If you have a cooling system pressure tester you can ensure that the system holds pressure. I'd go over the radiator and cap sealing surfaces first though.

Good luck.

Im going to try a higher quality radiator cap tonight

There is such a thing call head lift. Nitrous increses the compression ratio of your cylinder's by a lot. I do believe this is what is happening to you. Time to get a better set of head gaskets and maybe thinking about studs if you engine does not already have them.

this crossed my mind also......i already have heads studs lol. Its ok the car is going to be down for this winter as of sunday anyway. . . motor is getting pulled, whole car is getting body work/painta and a cage is going in!!!!! I promised myself that if i pulled the heads off this motor that i would be puttin a set of victor jrs back on it! So if anyone has any for sale let me know! I would buy used but i can really only swing about 950$ :(

I would check the coolant system first to make sure that nothing is failing there. But I honestly would think it was a headgasket. What kind are you using? The reason I think so is because I had a similar problem with my water pumps. I then took it to my builder and he found it to be a headgasket. I have not had one problem since. I did go to a much better headgasket and studs. Now that I think about it....do you think that may have caused my heater core to bulge out and bust which I simply bypassed for the summer and fixed this past Tuesday (in record time for me 3hrs. 15 minutes)??

very possible! I hate cooling system problems as they are just a pain in the ass!

well im pulling the 331 out sunday and sitting it on a stand until i can put some victor jrs on it. In the meantime i will be putting a gt40p headed 302 in just so the car is not sittin collecting dust! I will pill to kill the 302 of course :)
