I went looking for a 06 Mustang GT at a local dealer near by but he would not order one for me saying that he will not order any mustang Gts saying that he will not see them. But he was nice telling me come back at the end of the first week of March so he can order a 2007 Mustang for me instead.
It sounds like I can get the mustang Gt by the end of July.jGypsum

Why wait? Search the dealer inventories online and find the color you want.
you gonna wait longer than july.

I would think you are right but I am having problems finding 06 Mustang Gts that are on dealer lots. And if there are any the dealers wants top dollar.
I am in no rush since the weather is bad outside.Even if I get the car in May June or July its not really a big deal.
And my dealer said he will give me the 07 Mustang GT at $500 over invoice.
Bought a few cars from my dealer and i really think he is not lying to me.He said once I put the Deposit down in March that I will have something called a dora whatever that may be.JoeyGyp

Just one question, why do they need a deposit to order a vehicle? They'll sell it if you don't pick it up right? I bought a 04 F250, 04 Explorer, 05 F150, 05 GT, and have a 06 F250 on order at the same place. All I do is call my salesperson, he logs on to FMC Dealer, places the order, faxs me a copy and calls me when it comes in.

I agree with you Joe. $500 over invoice for an 07 GT is a good price. We're getting late in the 06 model year and most dealers want too much for the 06 GTs. Your 07 will be worth more in the future because it's a newer model year too.

Thanks 351CJ I will wait 2 weeks to order my 07 Stang GT.$500 is not a problem putting down on a car and I am sure most dealers wants at least $500 down.
My dealer has been good to me and feel I should give him my business because he's not jacking the price up like most of the other dealers that I have been too.And the Resale at this point would be better with a 07...Thanks JoeyGpy

Just make sure your deposit is refundable in case the car doesnt show up for 6 months and you want to bail.

stanmckinney I wish I could be as lucky as you.
$500 refundable deposit will be on the order but I know I will have to wait 5 or 6 months because the cars will not get to the dealer till late June sometime. And even if I get the car in July it will be a 07 and hope to drive it during half of the Summer at least.JoeyGyp

You sure do sound like someone else that has been posting on this site about this March ordering business.

Well it is March, and the dealer I work for still can't order 07's.

Thanks but Denvers a bit too far and also its only a few months away before the 07s will be out.....
Here is what another local dealer has to say from a email I sent them.Seems that some dealers know whats going on and many more that don't?JoeyGyp

Job 1 is June 5th, so you should be able to order probably next month

where are you located, and how far would you be willing to go if you found an '06 that really fit what you want as far as options etc.?

There are 2 dealers near me in southern WV, and you can get an 06 Mustang GT at invoice at either one of them. I can always check and see what they have on the lot, I think one of them has 3 and the other has 5.

Xstanger I think you maybe onto something hmmm. Good luck on the 07 Joe. Deposits are not needed, they are at the discretion of the dealership. When I asked my salesman about it he said they never do. If you don't buy it, someone else will. Good luck.

Thanks Firestang
Dealer wants $500 so its not a big deal.As long as he puts down deposit is refundable.
If I was buying a different car from Ford then I would not pay a deposit.Lets see if they will be taking orders next week,I will call my dealer towards the end of the week.JoeyGYP :SNSign:

Tomporrow's your big day, Joe. The dealer order guides went out Saturday PM. Unless something changes the order banks open tomorrow, March 13.

Let us know how you make out. I'm looking to order an 07 too, but I'm going to wait and see if I can get a photo of the new 2 tone interiors before I pull the trigger. There are a lot of new interior color and option choices now, so many that it's made making a decision harder.
