Hey guys,

I am looking for a shop relatively local to me (Seattle) to do a 4.10 gear install. Also, I am looking for a reasonably priced shop as well. I would go to Brad's, but over the phone they told me that they were 2 months out for that kind of work and it would cost me nearly 800$.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks.

You know where I would take it. Another reason to bring your goofy azz down to this part of the state. You can kick it over night if needed. We got an extra room

If you want Chung to do, snap, he may charge a grand cause he dont get his hands dirty

Your just needing the gears installed correct. You have the gears and oil?

LOL, yea, I can imagine. I haven't purchased the gears and kit yet. This is just on the list of mods to do. I am either doing gears now or just going to get a tuner and a few suspension mods and wait.

Gears in the cobra will do what I know your looking for. Do these first. Chung carries everything you need in stock. Jeff I dont think is too busy, but I have not been down there for a while so things might be changing as spring is coming. Call them and see when they can get you in. Just be prepared if they say like next wk this is feasible for you. Your welcome to stay here if needed. Maybe schedule it like on a friday and we could roll around town Friday night. Cost I can't be sure. Gears, oil, install, probably will need a rebuilt kit as well while they are in there.

Bill,

Always good to talk to you. I sent you a PM about a wk ago on the other site, and was curious why you had not responed. When I checked "sent mail" in my PM box I noticed there was nothing there. For whatever reason, it never made it too you. Sorry bout that.

For gears, yeah, perhaps you and Corey could roll down together. Might call Jeff and see if he could do a back to backer for you two. If you do it on a friday, I can pick up guys up and roll around till your cars are done, instead of waiting at the shop all day.

As for the NW SN Meet, I think I am done with it. I have asked Billit Bill to put something together. Whether he will I am not sure. I just want to enjoy shows these days rather then work on them I do enjoy having so many people get together for meets with no stress of trophies, and politics. The burnouts are wicked and the cruising is always a great part. I miss that type of stuff. So many great memories

I just got the off the phone with Jeff and it looks like maybe a little over 300 for labor depending on equipment difficulties and possibly 200 for the gears themselves. I forgot to ask about the 2 for 1 though, lol. I am going to try to round up gears first and call him back. Plus, I may purchase the xcal2 from them as well.

I will keep ya'all posted.

From the few talks we have had about this Cory I understand where it is you are coming from... HOWEVER, if this event does not take place this year I will be extremely bummed out. Sorry to steal the thread, I am done...

Brad's is 2-3 weeks out most of the time. I'm sure they're not 2 months out.

That's what I got over the phone. He told me 2 months out for a gear install. Brad's is an awesome shop and is near by me, but they are definitely asking for a lot of money from me for the install. Gas to Vancover is cheaper.

Well, the schedule is set for Friday the 9th for the 4.10's install. This will be interesting, I have never gone so steep on gears. Jeff says it is going to take about 6 hours for the install which makes more sense to me. I talked to Jeff a little about getting 2 done in a day and it appears that he wouldn't have the time for that. But he does have time on the Thursday the 8th. Give them a call Bill. Let me know what you can find out or work out.

Thanks guys.

Hey Bill, Jeff just shot me a message about doing both cars. It looks like they can get both cars hammered out in the same day, it will just take a bit longer. Let me know what you think. Maybe we road trip down.

Woohoo, my gears show up tommorrow as well as my JLT true cold air intake. Can't wait to get down to Vancover and get the gears installed. Hmmm... I wonder what will go on the car next

Maybe... Or maybe depending on my motivation I may just pick up a nitrous kit for it. LOL. But, at this point, the car pulls extremely hard (as Bill might know ). I may just stay N/A and go for the full FR500 kit. But I am definitely excited to see what gears will do to this car.

I think the gears are really make a difference in the low end, but 4:10's
will probobly hurt your top end, but hey how many tunnel runs can we do!! ehh!!!
