Well I know you guys swear by them for our cars BUT what about my Ram? I'm getting a set of headers and summit has the bolts for like 42 bucks. I can't fathom why bolts are that expensive. Should I spend the money on them?

Its good to see someone else has saved a buck or two

When you think about it

A few common sense things like this
and
If you placed the bux saved in a hiding place

You just might could go first class with some of your mods

Stud mount heads as opposed to Ped mount
Custom cam as opposed to ots
etc etc etc

I don't know ... It a thought

I didn't use any washers, just tightened them down a couple of times after short runs.

Grady, I get your point about stud mounted head bolts as opposed to bolt style, but I've heard that removing our heads with studs is very hard to do. I'm pretty sure there's ways around it, like removing the studs closest to the firewall before pulling on the head. Also, I was told that we don't NEED studs until our combo is making crazy power, bolts will work just fine. What do you think?

I should have been more specific

I was talking about type of rocker ... studs or pedestal
which
Would have a bearing on ones decision with aftermarket head selection

btw ... I did ARP head bolts for my NA combo

I used some locking header bolts on an old Mopar once.....I think they were Stage 8's. They worked fine, but every other car, including my current 94, I've used stainless lock washers like has been said already and I've never had any problems with them backing out. I go over them a couple times after the initial install, but that's it.

may sound like a stupid question but whats the difference between the rockers? Why is one better then the other?
