lol so i just trashed my tranny

in my blue car, i was dickin around with my brother, missed 3rd and tried to jam it in for some reason. so yeah, third and fourth gear are MIA. I have another tranny on my porch, but i have to wait for cash to get er rebuilt, and the chunk of change i have right now is going towards finishing up the 3 quarter sleeve. Not really pissed, the only way i could see this biting me in the ass is if i end up taking some girl out, and its nice enough to drive it. ok, done rambling...merry christmas guys

niether, it's like theres nothing there at all. i think i broke the shift fork or something, it goes into position very smooth, but it feels like the shifters attached to nothing when i try to shift it into 3rd or 4th

and i'll get pics of the sleeve when it's finished next saturday

My guess is the fork is jammed. You could take the trans out and take it apart and fix it. They are not that complicated really. Pretty simple to take the top cover and tail shaft housing off.

Ive got one that the 3rd gear synro was so worn i lost 3rd and 4th, it wont even move into the spot where the gears are supposed to be, shifts in 1st, 2nd, 5th, Reversre perfect, just acts like 3rd and 4th arent there. It sounds like the syncro or shift fork went. I hate blowing trannys im on like my 7th one.. lol.

I have a tranny here without 5th. one that jumps out of reverse. And one that grinds into every gear. I feel your pain.

yea if i were you i would check out your shift forks cause u might not have done all the damage that you think u did. I have busted more shift forks then i have trannys. Now i wasnt there for the noise that it made when it went but it would have been real loud when it busted if it blew. I have a power point on how to replace shift forks, little college presentation i had to do. let me know if ya want it

I had a 93 4cyl as a DD as well. Nice reef blue on ponys... girls didn't mind it, it looked good, but the Audi they like much much better!
