Long tube question

I have a engine hoist , would it be easier to disconnect the motor mounts and transmission, hoist the engine out to install the headers. Then lower back in? I know I would have to disconnect the Radiator and isnt that about it? Has anyone tried this or have any input on the idea.

short answer. no. well, it would be just as much of a pita if not more than dropping the k.

drop the k-member, it will be alot easier than doing that, imo. cause you're going to have to disconnect all electrical connections, fuel, drain the radiator, etc...

Gotta follow suit here... Much simpler to work from the bottom upward for this install.

drill a hole in the A arm and the K member and bolt a chain to hold the springs in and compressed when you drop the k, makes it much faster

also its a good time for a tubular K member if you ever wanted one..

Best how-to IMO. I followed it, and it was almost dead on(i think only thing it was off was one or two wrentch size)
