LONG TUBES

Why are they so much better?
Custom built for each application, Dyno proven, super think warp resistant flange, beefy construction, no fitment issues and awesome durability on their coating along with a great warranty on the header itself.

Tell me that these aren’t a work of art….

You definately want to go with a ceramic coated header. Long tubes put the o2 sensors further away from the engine, and at idle this lets the o2's cool off some, throwing off the reading, and sometimes causing some drivability issues. The ceramic coating helps to keep some of the heat in and will help this some.

Not only that, but the ceramic holding in the heat prevents burning wires up under the hood.

The ceramic coated BBKs had the same heavy-duty construction of the Kooks headers. They cost $500 and when I buy headers, they are probably what I will buy.

You guys are forgetting the post important part. Performance. The ceramic coating allows for a hotter EGT’s which improves scavenging and flow. Not to mention a ceramic coated header will outlast a standard header.

basically all the longtubes produce the same amount of hp....maybe 2-3 more for a different application...which is not much unless you're an extreme horsepower junkie....the reason for higher prices is usually better quality material, fitment, ability to remove tranny, and so on...

Those custom longtubes look sharp Brain!
:nice:
Yup, they sure are Purdy. These are actually the T-Bird/Cougar headers that fit my car. I couldn’t find a good picture of their Mustang ones. Mine should finally be arriving soon after the holidays. This particular set runs $650.00US. (Mustang Headers should be a little cheaper, I guess  )Kinda stout I know, but they’re the only manufacturer that makes a mid length, high quality header for the 4.6L Birds and Cats. They should compliment my Eaton and intake upgrads well. :nice:

Side Note
I didn’t mean to make it sound in my previous post that all headers that weren’t Kooks, were junk (although someone would be hard pressed to ever again convince me that the words Mac Headers and Quality could be paired together in the same sentence). I’ve seen and had experience with the Mac, BBK and Kooks with regards to the 4.6L in the past and can honestly say that although they're expensive, you do get what you paid for. Nobody, with any particular make of vehicle or model…..not one person who’s owned a set of Kooks to my knowledge has complained about their build quality, coating or performance. Where I have always heard mixed results from the other brands with regards to at least one of the above. You guys can take that for what it's worth. :)
