I'm about to drive from West Texas to Phoenix, AZ this weekend for the Arizona v. Atlanta game. It's roughly 1500 miles round trip, which is the longest road trip I will have taken in her yet. That got me thinking, what's the longest distance you guys have driven in your Mustangs? One way or roundtrip..

That's terrific. Enjoy the car and the countryside.

Car mostly sees 1/2 mile at a time. 1/4 down to the end of the strip and same distance back...lol. I think it could be driven some distance but it would be awful uncomfortable and noisy, rough ride too. Don't suppose trailering it to the tuners (100 miles) counts? Hey...it's an open trailer.

The Bullitt gets the 1200 mile Pascagoula to Beaufort round trip or the 350 mile Pascagoula to Atlanta roundtrip almost monthly. 20k miles since the end of April!

The best highway car ever!

The 82 gets miles as noted above, in 1/4 mile increments, or sometimes 1/8 mile increments.

I do not count even open trailer miles.

I'm not sure which is further, but one of the two. Chicago to Lake Geneva, WI, Which I THINK is like 90-120 miles somewhere in there, and Chicago to Byron Dragway, which is like 90-95. SO Lake Geneva is probably the longest.

This past September (and the one before that) I drove from Jupiter, FL to the Keys along with 190+ other Mustangs. Stop and Go traffic for about 1/2 the drive. I'd guess it's close to a 300 mile drive each way.

LOL NotQuik was there.

I was planning a Springtime trip over to east Texas / returning though Colo, Utah and Vegas,

but your adventure makes that trip look pretty tame.

NJ to SC and back.. I think it was some where around 1300 miles. We did that acouple weeks after our trip to Ohio and back... the Pionner DVD player / Navigation was worth it's weight in gold!

Not as long as some but in August 2006 did Calgary to Victoria to Richmond to Seattle to Vernon to Calgary. 1511Miles in total. Was one of the longer road trips I did and certainly one of the best, the S197 is a great highway car. Maybe not Lincoln good or anything but certainly way better than I expected (and way better than the Fox Mustangs I had before). Averaged over the entire trip 24.5 MPG.

Last summer we started from Kansas City to Manhattan, KS (140 mi.) for Country Stampede (spent 4 days there),
then made a run to Estes Park, CO (about 400 mi.) spent 3 days there.
From Estes took tour of Rocky Mountain National Park, and a drive down the west slope to Gunnison, CO (about 300 mi.) Had the top down most of the way.
Family reunion in Gunnison, with a RT to Telluride one day (240 mi. but all day trip with the twisty roads).
Then an 14 hour dash back to KC (about 800 mi.) and home (She-Who-Must-Be-Obayed says we are not doing that again!).

Averaged 24 - 28 mpg for the trip, with the best milage in the mountains, between altitude and low speed on the tight twisty sections.

The '07 GT performed flawlessly and was very comforatable on the trip. I would occasionally reach down and tap one of the seat controls to change position and pressure points.

Driving in the mountains, carving the twistys, with the top down is incredible and the best way to enjoy the scenery. We are planning to do it again this next summer.
