look what i brought home!

Thanks! The car is black with boyd codington 17" nemisis wheels. 289 4spd. Suspension is all stock. Wont stay that way for long! Very straight body. A VERY tiny bit of paint bubble behind the drivers rear wheel. Other then that pretty perfect! So now im looking for a chassis shop in the sacramento, ca area that can do a small mini tub on it. Move the springs, put my built shortend 8.8 in. Then start getting the chassis support stuff done, TCP complete sub frame kit, 10pt cage with swing outs. Upgrade the brakes a bit..lol. And then get the 347 with novi 2000. Though I did have to tap into my engine fund to get the car, so might take a little extra time to get the big stuff done. Either way, just being able to drive a classic mustang, feels better then the other 6 I have had. Seems to be a whole different air around the car!

nice car, too nice for a 10 point cage IMO, maybe a 4 or 6 point , but it's really too nice to to do all the cutting and stuff to fit a 10 point cage in it, of course that is just my opinion so take it for it what it's worth. the mini tub sounds good though as well as the other stuff you mentioned too.

i'm kind of a purist as far as cutting on a classic, but it's anything goes on stuff that's easily reversible and stuff that doesn't really effect the basic structure of the car too much, mini tubs are about the one exception to that for me, since they don't distract from the overall classic appearance of the car, provided the mini tub is 2"or less. i love restomods and original restos both i even like race cars provided the car they built it from wasn't good material for either a resto or restomod type car, rolling shells for instance make great race cars, i just hate to see someone take a really nice car and cut it all up to make a race car out of it.

ok, sorry to sound like such a downer on your project i really do like most everything you have planned for it except the cage, it's a beautiful car as is so i can't help myself

Well, i really do understand what you mean. It is very nice. But, im planning on going fast, and it will need it. It will have swing outs that wont be on unless im at the track. And bucket seats with 5pts. The car will be driven to work probably once a week (friday-my reward for driving the 92 taurus the rest of the week:D) and on the non rain weeknds. I hate cars that only know what the trailer and garage look like. The whole car will not be a hack job at all. And im hoping to have whoever puts the cage in, be able to get it close enough to the roof and sides that it wont even be noticed. The dash and gauges along with wood steering wheel will stay. Hell, id put the steering wheel up on the wall.. I love it. For the most part, other then wider tires, you wont even be able to tell the car has been touched. But sound on the other hand.....lol

:flag:

You should be excited, that is a beautiful car! When you call us (TCP) to order your parts, we can give you a couple of recommendations for shops to do the work...
Tim

That sounds great Tim! I have heard nothing but good stuff about your shop and products! Ill be in contact Very soon. Should i ask for you or someone on your sales staff?

hate to be negative, but, 17's should NOT be put on 65/6 cars. they are just too big. looks like a toy car. just my .02.

:nonono: Feel free to leave at any time and dont let the door hit you on your way out.

I can see this statement being true if it had 24s on it....but 17s??????

I swear Im going to borrow some wheels and roll to a show one of these days with 19s on my Shelby...just to piss people off.

Shame on you.............

You stole that car:nice:

LOL, i know. In fact when i got up to the guys house, and drove by the car, i think my mouth was hanging open thinking, wow, thats all he wants for it! This ofcourse was after i tried to buy a 96 cobra- they screwed me around for 3 weeks, and then didnt have the title, then it had a lean... THEN, i acutally won a 65 on ebay down in orange county- AKA ebay name- davidkim68 - When then decided that our verbal agreement for me to pick up the car labor day and pay that weekend, wasnt any good. Then when i borrowed the money, so i could pay him early, HE BACKED OUT ON THE DEAL AND TOLD ME HE DIDNT WANT TO SELL HIS CAR ANYMORE!!! GRRRR.... OL WELL. I got a better one. But I am going to have EBAY **** his world up, as well as the neg feedback he will get. Had to wait 10days to file a complaint!

The 17's do look a little big in the picture, but the pics up right now suck. Once i get my new radiator in today, ill get some better ones.

The wheels look great. I had 14's in high school, then I got 16's in the very early 90's and people thought I was crazy. Then in 1992, I got one of the first few sets of 17s' that AR relaesed. People about flipped out.So i've had my 17's for about 15 years and now i would like to try a staggered 18"/20" for the hell of it:D
