I would have posted in the mach specific forum but i figured this would ger more exposure here. anyway, im looking into buying a 03 or or 04 mach. preferably blue, black or red, 5spd. decent miles. preferably stock. pretty much everything ive found on my local CL is up around 18k. these cars blue book for 13.5 max. is there something im missing? or do all these people just want waaaaay too much for their cars?

any input is welcome

thanks

$18k is too much and $13.5k is realistic.

I would think $14-$15k would be the Max I would pay for a nice one, but I did see a Azure Blue Mach at a local ford dealer priced @ $18k last week. I think the cars you are coming across, the owners don't want to accept the reality that the value has went in the toilet over the last year or so....

I wish I was buying my Mach 1 this year rather than back in 06 because I paid alot more than what they are worth now....

In about 95% of the cases don't even bother with a delaership. They will want $18K or more. If you happen to find one at a dealer for less, than it might be considered. Private sale Mach's, you can easily find one for $15K with 25K or less miles. Don't buy an overpriced private seller for $18K. Those people are dreaming. Check out E-Bay and the Mach 1 Registry " '03-'04 For sale" forum. See what they have to offer. Autotrader might be another. Their's a couple more websites I can't think of right now.

03's tend to blow spark plugs out. 04s were fixed from the factory(more threads in plug hole). Some 03's got replacment 04 heads to fix it.

Thats about it I can think of.

Can't blame people for trying to make some money, but people usually ask way too much for their cars. Especially when it's a Mach 1 or Cobra. I wouldn't pay more than 14-15K and the car would have to be low low low mileage.

I just sold my 03 GT that I took in as trade for my 96 Cobra. I sold it for 11,500. 27,000 miles, mint condition. People told me that's too low...but guess what?....IT GONE!!! All the ones for sale for 14-15K are just that....still for sale. I sold this car in 6 days. Could I have gotten 12-13K for it?? Maybe....but when? I'm not sitting on something for 3-6-12 months. Point of this short story....buy cheap. Work people down a little. I wasn't worked down, I was just asking a fair price. $12,500 and I sold it for $11,500.

Go to your friendly local Ford dealer and get an OASIS report.

For one it shows all repairs done by the Ford dealer or dealers, that is as much as I know about it.
