Do you the original cracked pad? I have a brand new in package dashpad overlay the one that you repair your old dashpad with. Let me know we can work something out.

I have a decent pad from my 70 Mach that I will not use. It has the normal cracking around the speaker. It will get you by. I was going to sell it to someone who would want to use a cover for it. Let me know soon.

I'm in Austin,TX.

I think most of the mustang parts vendors are selling those now, made with the original Ford tooling.... a little pricey at around $450, I think, but worth it for a professional job.

Check Mustangs Unlimited, Dallas Mustang, Johns Mustang, Mustangs Plus... the usual suspects. Good Luck!

I have hunted high and low for a replacement pad and the cheapest repro was about $350. About twice what other years are going for. Must be one heck of a pad! 69-70 were the expensive ones. BTW - $450 for the original Ford tooling repros.

I think I'm just going to cover mine. No way I can justify the cost of a dashpad when there are much more important parts to consider. They will price themselves right out of business.

No surprise there, almost everything for a 69/70 is priced that way, there simply weren't millions of them made to support the need for parts. Try looking up the price for the front window pillar weatherstrip on a 69' vert, it's easily $100 bucks more for each side than the piece on an earlier model. I've been putting off buying them for a while now. At least they started to repro the dash pad this year, last year it was either a cheap cover or ford tooling to choose from. There is always some consolation for our crowd though, at least the 71-73 guys have it worse than we do.n

So if you are selling the grande and the 70' is no longer available, what's the next project?

dunno yet... I ahve been thinking about that a lot lately. My buddies and I are planning on getting a small shop to work on our cars and the idea of building and selling old cars has come across our minds. I might not have a project for a while but use the cash for business capital to start our business (or lack there of) Two of us are big ford guys the other is a cheby fan. Between all three of us, I feel we have the knowledge and tools to do just about anything on these cars accept build a motor or tranny.

Our idea is to moderize old cars sorta like I planned to do. We would like to build custom cars. Cheby cars (camaro/nova/chevelle) will probably get a LS1 and 6spd combo and the ford cars might get a mod motor or something different if its a windsor block. All the major work is bitch work including stripping the car, cutting out metal and body prep. I figure if we work hard we can probably make a few thousand dollard off each car and keep a rotation. This is more of a side type things we all have school and a real job.

My project... I dunno, might be a first gen camaro, who knows
