You should check this out.
icengineworks

My wife is a member of the National Street Machine Club (yes, I know she's a keeper, that's why I married her) and she gets their magazine every other month. This month has an article featuring this 3D modeling header building system. It looks pretty awesome. They went from scratch to a set of custom headers in 6 hours with this kit. Here's their article. http://www.streetmachineclub.com/Po...nical/Headers_in_a_Snap/Headers in a Snap.pdf

If you don't have the means for the fab of the actual header, you could make the 3D model with this, then take it to a good welder to have it made.

I built my own. I built a 393 stroked 351W with Brodix heads with the wide exhaust bolt pattern and FPA headers are close to $700. I bought a "U" weld it kit from Summit (1 3/4) for a Small block Chevy. I made my own flanges but you can buy them already cut out for your type of head. They took about 2 weekends to make.

I'm going to refrain from giving advice here since I've made my own mistakes and have a cable-clutch manual, not an auto, but you can see my pics and 68efivert's pics on this thread. I am currently making a set of JBA 1650S-2 shorties work, but the #8 spark plug will need a ceramic 90 degree boot to send it around the back of the valve covers, and that side header will probably need to come off to change spark plugs.

Steeroids and headers - Hedman 88300 doesn't work - shorties? - Vintage Mustang Forums

all these pics are with 302 engines, so yours will be at least 1" higher and wider than ours. Good luck!

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
