looking for a mustang please help

hey, im looking for a mustang gt or cobra right now probably a 96-98 ill probably have about 12 thousand to spend when i purchase the car im wondering if i will be better off buying a gt for about 7,000 and modding it probably put P/I heads and save on insurance or just buy a cobra for about 10,000. im wondering how much more the insurance would be for the cobra than it would be for the GT i know that the GTs arent all that fast stock from those years but i have a 99 V6 camaro now so im sure it would be faster than that but i dont know how much or if it would be that big of a difference if you could help me with this i would greatly appreciate it

For $12,000 you could probably pick up a 99 or 00 GT. If not that go for a 96-98 Cobra. Not that there's anything wrong with a 96-98 GT with a headswap but if you have the money for something more you might as well for it.

IMO

96-98 Cobra > 99+ GT >>>>>>> 96-98 GT

All three will be faster than your V6 Fbody

4V is always better than 2V. The cobra will hold its value better, especially with the 05 GT comming out. imo the GT prices will plummit.
