93 351 cid winsor REDUCED PRICE

I dunno why everyone is so afraid of going 351.

theres a motor for 200 bucks, still can use a roller cam, rebuild it use those afr 185's and you will smoke the 300 rwhp goal.

Im not trying to push my opinions on you, just trying to get you to think outside of the box. the motor you described building will be fun on the spray, but i'd guess its gonna be a little lazy off the bottle. An 11:1 357w could go low 11's no problem on motor.

I'm just saying this cause i wish someone would have told me that a 351 block could support 700-800 hp, and make the power/torque easier/cheaper. It would have saved me alot of time and money, and I would have been making more power. Once you get used to the HCI package your gonna want more. and there is only so much power that can be milked out of a 302

+1000 if i hadnt got such a great deal on my Dart block it would have been nice to know and i could have spent the money that i spent on my 347 towards a 408 or 427 NA engine and made 600hp easy

Nitrous loves compression, it just makes it a little more dangerous. Make sure you are using forged pistons, and make sure it's tuned right on the spray and you shouldn't have an issue. Don't go more than 10.5 or 11:1 with the way gas is nowadays though. I would do all this research and figure out exactly what it's going to be before you get the parts.

Also, not sure if you're building it or having it built, but make sure you check piston to valve clearance on assembly. The pistons will most likely need clearancing for those heads unless they already have big valve reliefs.

Why aren't you using stock pistons?

not using the stock pistons because ill most likely be going .030 over (its a 100k + mile block) in the clean up process anyways.

and yes im absolutely using forged pistons. just not sure what brand or what type yet.

probably gonna go with the tfs 2 cam.

comp. will be 10.5 at the most.

i want it to be a fun car on the spray but be able to handle a pretty decent shot on the bottle.

ill be building it myself and will be measuring out EVERYTHING (im pretty OCD when it comes to my own stuff)

been doing a lot of reading and ended up putting together a list of parts last night. any of this sound mismatched?

302 Rebuild Kit w/ oil pump
AFR 185 60cc pedestal mount
Holley Systemax
tfs stage 2
Forged pistons (not sure on brand or type)
1.7 RRs pedestal
C&L 76 mm MAF
30# injectors
255 pump/ regulator

going to end up with a new clutch and 3.73s as well

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but I can't start a new thread using mobile.

But my question is for those using a typhoon intake. I know they're essentially a cheaper Vic jr but are they worth buying?
