I already have flows on my car, but the tips are only 2.5". They came with the car, so I was really thinking into upgrading into a better exhaust. I was looking into the 3" and up range. I don't want to spend a lot because I've got a lot of other mods I'm planning on getting, so 300 is my budget.

I want the new exhaust to sound good with an o/r h pipe. Any suggestions?

well...i just bought some polished/chrome exhaust tail pipes w/ tips off a 99+ gt on ebay for like 20 bucks. Im gonna put these on with my flows to start once i do my h/c/i this winter. Maybe it will change the sound....maybe not.

If it doesn't sound different or where i like it, im gonna run some Spintech Prostreets with the tail pipes. I heard an off road h with the Spintech sportsmans(which are a bit tamer than Prostreets) and it sounded SICK

Do you guys think 2.5" American Thunders are already good? I'm starting to think that buying a new exhaust will be pricey for me.

If you were me (very limited budget) would you spend more money on another exhaust if you already had 40 series flows? Should I save the money on other mods?

I think the MAC cat back will be the best for your money. Yeah are a good sounding cat back. I have bassani and love it. I made my own cat though. I bought two bassani mufflers (93 each) MAC flow tubes (50 pair) and 3" tips (can't remenber how much). The car sounds greats. I have a clip in my sig if you want to hear it. I also have MAC shorties and MAC O/R X.

You know what... forget it. I found a MAC system with 3.5" tips for 390 and thats too expensive. I mean I already have a flowmaster 40 series which i'm totally content with. With 400 I could buy that H pipe i've always wanted, some pullies, new lights, and an intake.

I have the mac o/r h pipe with welded in flow it sound great with the stock tail pipes. Your not going to gain any hp with larger pipes at this point. IMO save your money for another mod. .02

Yeah but the stock tail pipes look like crap. I would just pick up the tail pipes from ebay and have a shop weld them up. Probably would cost 25-50 bucks.

nah no one is going to gain any power from bigger tailpipes. I got new ones for the better look because 2.5 inch pipes look TINY from behind with a decent sized tire on the back. So im upgrading for the looks aspect and MAYBE it will have a slightly different tone.

And when its all said and done, i will probably have about $50 wrapped up in the swap.
