Well i have decided since i am going to keep my car that i will look in to getting a blower. Need some help. Point me in the right direction. Kenne or paxton? i have minor mods and would like to know the price range i am looking at. For a decent blower that will not screw me over ( I drive this car 3 to 4 days a week) Trying to keep it within reason on price. Including install. I dunno if i will need a tune or what. I know everybody and there brother asks this. I am getting some cash for christmas so looking to get a blower.

If it's a choice between just those two on a near stock daily driver, I'll take the KB any day.

I'm saving also. After everything I've researched, I'm going to go with the Kenne Bell but can't decide on the 6 or the 9 psi kit. I'm a little concerned about the 9 psi kit being it will be pushing the limit with stock internals.

its all in the tune. Call Tim at Modular Ford Powerhouse and get him to set you up with a safe tune on the 9# kit.

Well, the 400hp these motors are pushing is kind of on the fence in regards to the limits of the stock pistons and rods. Some have gotten away with it for several thousand miles, where some have walked home. A good tune is important, but that's only going to save the pistons. The rods are going to feel the strain regardless. Were it me, I'd spend a few bucks upgrading the short block ahead of time. But I like to play things on the safe side where a several thousand dollar investment like that is concerned. I'd save a little more and go with the better rods and pistons and the 6psi KB first, then when more money was available, i'd upgrade to the 9psi kit and drive it with confidence.

Just get what you feel is better for your car and you are happy with. But my choice would be a KB again!

Well, keep this in mind. If you go with the 6psi KB on one occasion, then later on down the road decide to upgrade to the 9psi specs and go forged internals, you'll have tear the top end down once from the first install, then tear it off again and completely tear the rest of it down to the the internals. And that aint fun. I'd save up a little now and do the internals along with the 6psi kit. Yes it is a little overkill for now, but it will save you the headache and added cost of having to do it twice later on.

Yeah, they can be. But it's a lot more pricey when you pop the cork at 9psi and ruin your engine completely. I'm coming from a pushrod 5.0L to a mod motor 4.6L and the first think I noticed was that everything was about 3-times the price it was for me to build my 5.0L.

This was the best price thus far I could find on upgraded rods and pistons....

I just wanted to say the title of this thread is funny. It reminds me of one time in band camp...
