I have a 1990 mustang with a five lug conversion and I am looking to upgrade the brake system. SSBC has a four piston system that is wickedly expensive. Baer has a two piston system that looks somewhat reasonable. Is upgrading the stock system worth the expense of a new system? Anyone that has upgraded thier brakes please guide me as to which system is worth the money if any. Thanks.

What's your five-lug right now? I'm guessing Lincoln rotors and Ranger drums, i.e. stock brakes. Go with SVO calipers and Turbocoupe rear, or just go full SN95/Cobra and be done with it. Read Matt's site for info on all those.

I used Bullitt calipers all the way around with '94 Mustang spindles and Cobra rotors. Use the North Cobra brackets with the stock length axles, they bolt up perfectly. Also, I used a '93 cobra MC with the stock booster. Works great and stops better than my '01 Cobra vert.

Oh yeah.. do your homework first on Matt's site and this one.. http://www.duggerracing.com/techtips/brakes/index1.shtml

Good Luck!
