Do yourself a favour....replace the heater core now while the dash is out (whether it needs it, or not). They've got a tendency to go bad with age and they're a real bitch to get to when they do.

Yea! I would definitely take this suggestion.

+2 !!! The dash is out... now is definetly the time. It's also the time to go ahead and modify the heater core enclosure for easy access if/when the next time comes around for you to have to replace the core.

Well I brought her home today. Had a 40 mile drive, so I got to feel out the car. She looks like she runs a little warm. The temp gauge tends to hang right under the last white line before the red. It wasn't doing that on the whole ride home, did it when i used the car later in the day when I went to pick up my chick.

The suspension definitely needs work. Steering feels loose and the car feels like it wants to wander. I am going to start with the suspension first, before I start building the spare 302 I have.

I was thinking of replacing everything. Complete rack and pinion, all upper and lower control arm bushings, ball joints, swaybar bushings, outer tie rod ends. Also going to lower the car so I'll replace springs as well. Shocks are new on the car. Then I'll start with the engine build. What you guys think?

Every house starts with a good foundation. That's exactly what I'm doing. Although I would just look at all the wear parts then decide what needs to be replaced instead of possibly throwing money where it doesn't need to go.

The shop who sold me the fox ended up having some nice seats for sale a couple of hundred more bucks. So I jumped on the deal.
