My drivers side front brake caliper is loose. I checked the bolts and thay are both tight, The car stops straight but the pad does squeal sometimes when stopping. It almost looks like it needs a washer (spacer) and it would be ok but I didn't see any on the passenger side. Any ideas?

there is a metal clip that snaps into the caliper, sounds like yours might have popped out. its usually a shiny metal piece that snaps right into the caliper. i had forgot to put it in once when installing a new caliper, bolts were tight but the caliper was very loose afterwards.

Yeah, it's like a brake pad retaining clip. If it's gone, you can pick em up at LRS.

Those metal clips help seat your brake pads. Keep the pads from leaning from one side to the other to prevent incidental pad to rotor touching when the caliper opens. I.E.
I had changed my rotors and pads to track down a squeal in my rear calipers, tried lubing the e-brake, kicking and screaming bloody murder, and still the chirping came back.
A thought came in my head w/my first brake pad change, those clips were left out. Found some at Auto Zone no more squeal. My brake pads were pre-maturely worn on one side.
