Got a new Fox, 91 GT with 40k on it and its pretty much like a new car but the steering column is loose. Not the actual steering, there is no play, the actual column moves up and down a bit. Steering shaft & rag joint are good, all 4 9/16 nuts that mount the column to the car are tight, and the two bolts behind the multi-function switch are torqued properly, no difference.
I have noticed that on my other Fox, and on a freinds two Foxes all of the columns move up and down a bit. Is this normal for these cars? Its very slight, maybe 1/8" but its just annoying and cant believe they actually left the factory like that. Any input appreciated.
