With my 75mm TB and plenum it feels like I lost a little low end torque. Anyone else?

didn't lose, then again I didn't feel much other than SMOOTH.

oh yeah, i lost it.. wait.. i have on lowend anywhere. every mod I've done increasingly makes my lowend get slower and slower.. that's why you do 4.10s or 4.30s

These cars are almost completely devoid of low end torque to begin with. My 85 Mustang GT with 210 horsepower would lose BIG in a race with my 06, but it was MUCH more fun to drive because it had GOBS of low end torque.

I agree, the gears can bring some of this fun back. I will be putting in 4.10's when I get the time and money together.

the reason being is because you have moved the power band a bit higher than where it use to be

DUH! Yes, any time HP is going up and low end torque is going down, then yes, the torque peak is being moved to a higher RPM band.

I personally would be perfectly happy with more mid range torque and less maximum horsepower. Horsepower is a mathematical calculation while torque is something you feel when the seat pushes against your back.

The BEST of both worlds is when the horsepower goes up while the torque peak stays at the same RPM, but todays engine design goals are not conducive to this end. It takes inches to accomplish that and inches fly in the face of good fuel economy that is demanded by the CAFE laws.

I bet if you had free flowing heads and headers you'd notice more gain from that 75mm. These engines can only work with so much.. its not requiring all the air that it now has the potential to move.

Modular motors are overhead cam motors which means the cam(s) are located in the heads as opposed to the old five-o motors which were push-rod motors with hydraulic lifters located in the bottom center of the block. Mod motors need more time to spin to get the power and torque. Of course a KB would cure this issue of the loss of low end torque

i doubt you lost any low end power with a tb and plenum. its such a minimal gain its not moving a powr band anywhere.

A complete intake setup with a complete exhaust, complete fuel set up and a dyno tune specific for you car will net huge gains! The biggest things about bolt ons is they may claim 10-12 hp but may give you 3 hp.....with out proper tuning you really won't see much! besides when my car was stock it only seen 202 hp and 254 rwtq through my auto.....with full bolt on's and a great tune it pull 270 and 305 tq now.....I havn't gotten cams yet but they make the most power out of all the mods you will ever do! If I ever did it all over again....gears, full exhaust and cams in that order then tune it!

shouldnt really notice that much of lowend loss, some but not alot, make sure you have no leaks... just wait till you get an O/R midpipe then you'll notice big lowend loss
