I have a 302 with the following upgrades: bored .040 over, a B cam, BBK headers with an H-pipe and no cats (ran over a construction cone in the road which caused baffling in old cats to shatter, wanted $400 to replace both cats...so I had em cut out for 60 bucks AND sounds ALOT nicer), street dampner harmonic balancer, msd ignition coil, 1.7 roller rockers, intake manifold spacer (stock manifold), underdrive pulleys, 100 AMP alt, new belt tensioner, new fuel pump, pro 5.0 shifter, electric fan, new clutch, and ignition switch. I'm sure there's a few other mods or repairs I'm missing, but this is a pretty composite list.
My engine started feeling quite sloppy earlier today. When I pressed the gas down, it accelerated but felt sluggish. Whenever I shifted, the car shifted into each gear kind of hard. If I floored it, it went but lacked the torque feeling. Basically it feels very sloppy and sluggish when accelerating. The check engine light came on after I felt it sputtering in 3rd and 4th gear. It sputtered in each gear and went away after about 30 seconds. It hasn't done it since. Plus the exhaust pipes can clearly be seen at night when it is cool. Tonight, the left exhaust was blowing air but no visible exhaust was coming out. The right exhaust blows out visible exhaust. The left isn't blowing visible exhaust at all...only the right pipe is.
If it helps, I did wash the car before the sputtering started. Has anyone else had this issue with their mustang?
I will go to autozone to pull the code(s), if any are present (since the check engine light only stayed on for 10 seconds then went away).
I seem to have a lot of newer parts in here, so I am at a loss to why it's sluggish. For awhile it was running strong, but today it's like driving a 120 HP Subaru or Honda with decent acceleration but NO torque or intense pulling on the stomach feeling.
