When I first got my 'stang its power seemed to overwhelm me considering it was the first car I had. Now after a year and 3800 miles later, its power seems to be less. I used to be able to go right through the shifts quickly on the auto, but now the revs just grow to 4000/5000 before shifting. Is this normal or is something wrong?

Autos are supposed to shift close to 4700 at WOT. Not sure of the exact shift point.

i noticed the same thing 2 with mine. But buy yourself a can of Sea Foam motor treatment, 4 bux at the local carquest. STart your car, pour 1/3 of the can into a vaccum line that feeds all cylinders. Once u get the 1/3 in immediately shut if off, let it sit 5 minutes, then rev the crap out of it ( holding it at about 3k ) You will smoke up the whole block, lol i can't tell u how many cars stopped thinking i was smoking the tires. But after that my cars power doubled i got in it and i was awwed by the power my car had.

What is Sea Foam? I've never heard that technique before.

hey just the thing i need, a lil after school project. Dad's got some sea foam at all times, great stuff. What kinda of a vacum line do you speak of to get it in the engine. What exactly is that?

sounds like you're better off getting a can of "Restore" from autozone. At least it has a reputation and is poured directly into the oil, not through a vacuum line. The way I see it, vacuum lines are for air only..........don't mess with that

there is a vaccum line that is in the back of the intake manifold, if you pull off the hose from a little black Y thing then you'll hear the vaccum. Yea just run that trhought there, then like cobra clone said put a can of restore in, i haven't put restore in mine yet because i have 300 miles left before an oil change.

You got the classic case of, "Immune to your Current Power out Put Disease."

When this happens look out because the only thing that can help you is aftermarket parts and lots of them Now you`there are specialist in the field but you most work along side them with each step of the way. They are called Machinist.

GUNK makes a similar product. It is a chemical called Xylene or something similar. It is basically a strong chemical that will clean the intake manifolds and the airways in your engine if there is any carbon build up. Think of it like a fast drying alcohol(methanol/Ethanol), it evaperates fairly quickly so there is no damage to the engine. once you start the car back up a lot of smoke chokes up the engine for a few secs and gets blown out the exhaust but it works wonders. The quiky lubes or oil shops around me do this service, works great, you can even pick some up at a local auto store I'm sure. Make sure the product says fuel injector safe though. Cause some are for carbureted engines.
