Lots of smoke coming from breather and dipstick

Run down of whats going on. I'm on a rebuilt shortblock. I bought it with 700 miles on it. I have a breather on my valve cover and a jaz catch can with a breather on that too. I've noticed lately that after driving around smoke will puff out from under the hood when coming to a stop. It doesn't even have to be after wot runs even, just driving around. So after checking it out today, I'm noticing a lot of oil vapor pumping out of my breather on the valve cover and from the dipstick tube. I dunno why its pushing it out so much. Like I said its a rebuilt motor. Practically brand new. Also, at idle you can really hear and feel vacuum on the breather on the catch can. Don't know if its related but wouldn't that be unmetered air if that much vacuum was coming from that breather. What could be causing this pressure. Any help would mean a lot.

Have a baffle put on the inside of the oil fill so oil wont splash up into the breather so much.

Worst case its blow by.
How is your Jaz can ran?

I thought about getting a baffle made cause their fox cover and the baffle was removed to fit the rr's. And would it be pumping out of the dip stick because the tube I have in there is a piece of **** and probably gets splashed inside so then it burns off inside. Cause I put a heat gun on the dipstick tube outside of the car and it started smoking when it got hot.

Is this all it could be. Oil burning off.

Yeah I bet...get a lil baffle welded on the inside kinda up in the oil fill for RR clearance (what i did w/fox covers)

And get the dipstick thing done right, but usually oil coming from the dipstick is blow by..or overpress the crankcase on a boosted car.

make sure the pcv isn't stuck closed. it could be that too much pressure is building up and pushing the oil out.

any evidence of blow by? are you burning oil?

or is it possible there is just too much oil?

has it done this the whole time you have had this motor?

I have noticed that with mine if i really get on it hard the dip stick will pop out and oil will get blown out of the tube. Was gonna start a post about it but then I seen this one. I was gonna try hooking up the CAI to VC hose again and see if it stoped doing it. Any ideas on why it does it or if that will stop it?

Well thats why I mentioned it was a rebuilt shortblock. The compressions great and I know the guy that rebuilt it, good work. I know there isn't any blow-by in it. The dipstick tube I have is for a fox which its a fox block and all, but it doesn't fit for **** and the mounting bracket broke off the other day when I was trying to mount it. So it just kinda sits in there. I tried to position it tonight so it was not wanting to rub the crankshaft. I could feel it rubbing the crank shaft the way it was laying before. So until I get someone local here with another oem dipstick tube, I'll leave it as it.

I did take it for a short drive tonight and didn't see any smoke though. So thats good. I'll mess with it more tomorrow. But I highly doubt blow by, and its only been doing it for 2 days now, and I've been driving the car for weeks since having the motor.

click on stangnet links below and read about TT91s blow by problems i don't think yours is as severe but he had blow by problems and blew a rear seal you might want to contact him to see if and how he resolved his problem i know he has some recent experience on this issue.

Ok, well I'm leaning towards just oil burning off in the breather and dipstick tube, cause it doesn't start until after the car is warmed up. I've seen blow by issues, my old motor had them. But this motor has about 1500 miles on it now with all new internals. If I were to do a leak down test. I would be damn near 0. I'm gonna get a baffle welded in and get a correct dipstick tube.
