You have what kind of H-pipe? Catted or offroad? And when you say no mufflers, just the stock piping with the mufflers cut off?

WOW..if you are running a Hpipe with no cats and straight exhaust(no mufflers) then that is too loud........I ran straight pipes with the stock H with 4 cats when I first bought the car and I loved the way it sounded, with the exception being rev'n it standing still the exhaust would crackle at the end..but on the road it sounded great...when I bought the off road H with no cats it was way too loud for the street..IMO......

that H pipe has to have cats on it b/c there is no way that its an O/R pipe w/ no mufflers and its still not loud enough.

Just remember its a fine line between loud and soundling like crap. I had an o/r H pipe w/ magnapack mufflers and it would loud as hell and souned like $hit. Now I have those same mufflers w/ a catted X pipe and it sounds 100X better

Consider that your cats are partially clogged and really muting the exhaust note. They are naturally very good mufflers however.

Going with an O/R pipe and dumped mufflers of your choice should be annoyingly loud.

I learned the secret to a good sounding exhaust a long time ago. If it is too quiet, it's because there isn't enough engine in front of it.

Get rid of the cats. I like the X pipe sound, some like the H, some like the pro-chamber. Its very subjective. Once you ditch the cats you'll hear that sound you are looking for. I had shorty headers into an X into Flowmaster American Thunders and it sounded bad azz. Its really up to you.

I like the X or the H, and think the Pro-Chamber sounds like crap, but people on the board will disagree with me....... its really subjective to the owner. But you gotta ditch the cats. More air flow over the muffler = better sound.

I like my exhaust, it sounds good and is definetly loud enough for me. My 03 with this same setup sounded alright but it crackled way too much on decel, yet my 95 doesn't have that issue at all, wonder why.
