loud muffler for 1998 v6 mustang

Hey Im new to the mustang and muffler game and have always used a stalk muffler. I am looking to just buy a muffler and not do any modiffications to the rest of the exhaust system. Is there any muffler that would make it really loud without a poppy or crappy sound. also what would be the loudest?

You wont get much louder than a stock muffler. Any straight thru design like a red cherry bomb or magnaflow tube muffler will give you louder sound. The tail pipe quiets down the sound a bit. And even worse, the Catalytic Converters quiet down MOST of the exhaust noise ( believe me.. hehe) . Unless you get an aftermarket H or X Pipe or gut the cats ( means knock all the crap out of the converters to make them hollow), you won't get much better sound than stock. Understand when I say this as this comes from someone who has owned and tweaked around with his 3.8 V6 Mustang for 11 years. I know... lol

If you're looking for a car that sounds aggressive and intimidating, forget about doing it to the V6! You'll just wind up with a car that sounds like a WWII landing craft and people will be begging you to fix your muffler.

I don't post in this section, but just had to comment on this one. Why not find someone that has their stock V8 exhaust left over from adding aftermarket stuff to their GT? This will look good and have a mild sound and still sound ok. A loud V6 Mustang sounds terrible.

i wouldnt totally agree i have a 99 v6 i put headers on it knocked out my cats and cut out the stock muffler welded 2.5" pipe and an aftermarket muffler i get compliments all the time and mine is loud as hell!!
