Hey
I installed my Pro 5.0 shifter today and now its whining really loudly. Did anyone elses tranny whine after a shifter install? I've heard a few guys say that the tranny will whine after installing the shift but i never knew it would be so loud. It sounds like i have a blower under the hood in first and second gears...LOL
Anyone have any ideas of why it does this?
The tranny has always whined slightly especially in third and fourth, but it was so quiet that i hardly noticed it.
Oh and i did adjust the stops the right way and cut the stock "boot" according to Pro 5.0's directions so neither could be the problem.

After I installed my B&M i noticed more noise from the shifter/tranny, but nothing real bad. Did you make sure and seal everything up really well?

Most aftermarket shifters will whine louder than stock as you eliminate all the sound deadening rubber bushings. But not tooo much you move over some of the stock boots right?

What yr is your car? If it's a 94 and it more noticeable in 3rd than any other gear, it's normal.

Its a 94...and its most noticable in 2nd and 3rd.
I did seal it up pretty well, and i adjusted the stops according to instructions.
Thanks
Mike
