hey guys, just signed up.. i have a 01 cobra and i'm stuck between borla stingers or the slp loudmout.. in your opinions.. or first hand experience. Which is louder, deeper, and smoother? thanks guys

i have a catted X

if you pair the LM1 with an O/R midpipe, itll sound like you have a bunch of marbles being pelted at sheetmetal

the cats quiet the sound down enough, muffling it to not hear that sound

however u asked for the loudest, that set up would be the loudest since there would be no cats to muffel the sound. because of no cats, the quality of the sound is compromised

please note:

not all exhaust systems are like this!

an O/R midpipe paired with a flowmaster catback will sound awesome, it depends on what type of catback you get, mufflers or resonators(straight pipes)

i had the slp o/r x and slp lm1 on my mach 1.. cruising was loud and sounded like $H!T.. WOT it was VERY VERY loud but sounded alright at best (to me and a few otheres).. since i cant drive around at WOT at all times i changed my catback to bassani and kept the o/r x :nice: i have a clip if you like of me revvin.. also got some clips of the mach with slp cb and stock h pipe .. if u want slp's ide stay with the factory H pipe.. MAYBE a high flow cat H pipe.. borla's with o/r x is loud but i am not the slightest fan of borlas.. bassani, flows, and mac are all going to be loud with the right mid pipe (o/r) and be deep too ... just a few of my thoughts and comments

Bassani all the way. I didnt know what people meant when they said it had a "unique" sound until i got my catback. I now understand just how beautiful the sound is

bassani is one of the most exotic exhausts u can get for a mustang IMO
Very true. I wanted something louder than Bassani but the only option left is the SLP I's which would sound like ass with my X-Pipe. I occassionally want to add some LT's and make the exhaust louder.

I've got a friend with an '04 Mach 1 and she's got Bassani O/R X-pipe and Borla Stingers. MY GOD that thing is loud! It's got a nice deep rumble at low speeds, then screams up top. It sounds like the world is coming to an end when you're in the car and it's WOT. Personally, I like the exhaust but some people don't. Nice and loud, deep, but sometimes a bit "poppy". It's all in your personal preference tho

SLP Loudmouth (1) is the loudest cat-back on the market period. Next loudest is the Magnaflow Magnapacks.

Of course midpipe and headers are involved too, but im just saying all thigns being equal...
Thats very true. Im just hoping that with some Longtube Headers, Dr.Gas X-Pipe, and Bassani Catback i can get close to the loudness of those 2 systems

I do believe most of the anymosity towards SLP is due to their previous relationship with GM. Their quality is top notch and their exhaust sounds much better than most out there. Yes i have heard the stingers. I wanted the loudest possible catback and i got it. It sounds animal too.

Like i have said a million times there is no reason to go catless. I'll give you an O/R pipe if you are a road racer though becuase the cats could become extremely hot and pose a problem. I think most people teamed the LM1 with a catless pipe and were upset when it was raspy. That is what it is going to be. My LTs more than made up for any sound deadening the 2 hi-flow cats gave me.
