Can someone send me in the right direction for rear window louvers for my 88 gt. I've searched numerous places and have had no luck finding them. Thanks

JC Whitney used to carry them. Dunno if they're still available, but they used to have a choice between aluminum or ABS plastic rear window louvers. Them, or maybe even Carparts.com might have 'em.

IMO, louvers look better on the earlier models ('79 to '86) because of the different quarter-window design. The older models had sort of a louver-styled thing going on, too, so it all kinda ties together. Plus, rear window louvers were all the rage back in that era, so it would look age-specific on those (along with white-letter sidewalls and phone-dial rims). On an '88 GT ... welllllll ... I don't think it'd look horrible, but maybe not quite as cohesive. Depends on what kinda wing you're running behind it, too.

I like them too. There is a guy in my area with a very nice black 90 GT with them. It looks really sharp.

Thanks for the replies. I'm more than likely gonna grab a set before turkey rod run down here in daytona. I think they'd work well accenting my black 03 cobras and gives me another reason to keep the cheese grater taillights. I'll try to snap some pics of my car with the wheels and suspension done today. Gorgeous car btw aaron louvers look great on it. One other quicky how bad is installation?

back in 87 i bought louvers for my 87 gt from a company called cragar i know they make wheels.these were the best looking louvers on the market back then.i wish i could find these again i liked the roundedness to them.the company made ones for the lx models and the gt models and the only difference was the lx ones had an extra blade on the bottom and these would fit the gt models and gave it a really sleek look.

I didn't install mine - however, it's fairly straightforward on the piece I have. 4 clips slide underneath the window molding, and the louvers get attached to the clips via little bolts.
