wouldnt it be nice if you could turn your car on with a txt message

...only because when coming home from school on the train it really sucks getting into a cold car and sitting there for 5 minutes freezing my a** off. But if there was somekind of text message system i could turn it on 6 or 7 minutes before i even get to my stop which means im still like 3 or 4 miles away. and i dont think any remote reaches THAT far....and by the time i get to my car its WARM and i can drive right off instead of waiting.

you'd think if you can do it from a cell phone it would have unlimited range. Would it not?

turbogt....so how much would i be spending if i got a system like yours?

I went on their site and theyve got lots of options and it looks like yours would be top of the line.

Im kinda reluctant cause i already have the factory alarm with a fob and i dont wanna be carrying around 2 fobs. 1 alarm and 1 remote start.

Don't use your other fob. The "factory alarm" is passive, meaning there is no shock detector, etc. I have an alarm-starter, so it as a remote start with alarm. The alarm starter sells for about $700 installed, and the gps-cell phone part is about $600 on top of that. I don't drive the car unless it's beautiful, so I don't use the remote starts, but I put it in because the Alarm-Starter unit has more options.
P.S. It would make you sick to know what I payed because I own a shop.

Ok maybe then my alarm isnt factory?

Theres a flashing red button next to defrost button which i can use to turn the alarm on/off.

When the alarm is "on" and i hit the lock button, that activates the alarm.
But say for instance i stop to get gas, turn the car off, and NOT lock the car. about 4 minutes later the car will not turn on with just the key. I have to hit this "secret" button wayyy down the steering column at the same time i turn the key. i guess its incase someone tries to jump in the car...they wont be able to turn in on.

Also when the alarm is active and someone bumps the car..itll start beeping. I mean hit it almost anywhere and itll go off (especially the conv. top).
And when the top is down, you cant reach in to grab someting w/o the car beeping.
My friends started playing a game by trying to see who could steal my laptop without setting the alarm off. and nobody could do it.
So im guessing that i do have shock sensors and my alarm isnt factory? But i still have the stock key fob?

.....Dammit!! paying $1300+ is way out of my budget

Definitely not factory alarm. Sounds like something my dad had installed on his vette, when you got close to the car it beeped. It was pretty scary...you would just walk by and it would beep lol...scared me a couple of times.

Post a picture of your key fob. That's not factory by any means.

My guess is that your keyfob is not "factory", but a Ford dealer installed alarm..
I have never seen a key fob with a Mustang logo on it. The only other option is an aftermarket alarm that is activated from your factory doorlocks.. It would sense the signals for arm and disarm from your doorlock wires.
