I know this thread is six months old, but where did you buy the MP282? I can't find it online. There are some PPG paint stores in my area but I think they just sell house paint.

I bought it from our paint supplier, we spray PPG at work, any Auto Body supply store that sells PPG products should have it. If you're looking to buy something online, I've heard good things about the 2k urethane primer Summit racing sells under their name, I will probably try some for my next at home project.

Ok, time for an update and a big picture dump.
Got the quarter windows done, I primed them, I sanded them with 180, primed again, then sanded with 400 and painted. I'm using Sem trim black on all the trim.

The following pics are of reassembly, every piece of trim had been cleaned, sanded and painted, except the belt moldings, those are the Daniel Carpenter reproductions. They fit pretty good, I'm happy with them.

This brings us up to date, tonight I masked off the bumper moldings, scuffed with a red scotchbrite, and painted, then installed the fender and quarter moldings that meet the bumpers. I still have to do the other body side moldings, I have removed the metal strips, and retaped them, they just need painted and installed. Also need to repair the power locks and finish the doors. I ordered a set of generic lock actuators that should be here tomorrow.

In this pic you can see the wheel I cleaned, and polished a little spot on just to see how they will look.
I've put way more work into this thing than I wanted to, it's not perfect by a long shot, but it's coming out pretty good. I backed it out of the garage in the sun today and it hurts you're eyes to look at it because it's so bright.

So tonight was all about getting the power locks to work. I read thru several threads and saw @jrichker had a solution using cheap universal door lock actuators. So after a little searching, I found a kit on Amazon for $10. jrichker did a very detailed write up, and fabricated some nice pieces to put these in almost like a factory installation. I however did none of that, I'm much too lazy, and decided to use the actuator rods and clamps in the kit and come up with an alternative method. No step by step write up from me, but here are some pics, I did ziptie the wires neatly after the pictures were taken.

They work like a charm, so for $10 I'm happy.

Excellent! I need to do this on my Mercury. The aftermarket replacements actuators just don't cut it.

I did have to grind the clamp that connects the 2 rods together, the existing rod is a little too fat to fit. Other than that, it's really strait forward, make sure you have the wiring right, or they will work backwards.

Took a half day off from work to get this car finished. I got the interior all back together, door panels, hatch panels, kick panels and sill plates. No interior pictures, but I did clean and polish my wheels, and I have pics of that.
First I gave them a good scrubbing, these things were pretty nasty, so I made a mixture of Zep degreaser and spray nine, but only because I was almost out of the Zep, or I would have just used it full strength.

I don't know when they were cleaned last, I've owned the car for a year and a half and never cleaned them. Anyway they were bad enough that I used a red scotchbrite pad to scrub the brake dust off.

So they came out clean, but really dull. I think 10 holes are supposed to have clear coat on them, but mine don't, maybe someone stripped them?
You can get these little buffer pad adapters at harbor freight, they come with 2 foam pads and this wool pad, it was white when I started.

I used this mother's polish, a little bit goes a long way, I probably only spent about 15 minutes per wheel, the little buffer makes it quick. I used foaming glass cleaner to clean the polish residue off of the cast areas, and put a coat of wax on when I was done.

They don't look like chrome, but they're a thousand times better than what I started with, and didn't really cost anything but my time.
I still have to put the body side moldings on, and clean the windows and interior, but I'm in the home stretch now.

Wheels of the ten hole variety never turn out like that. Mine have a coating and look terrible thats why they are on the side of my house. Those look better than good, and I hate those things. Harbor Freight has great polishing solutions for cheap . I was looking at the Mothers polish ball for forty bucks and found the same part as yourself. Great tool for all polishing needs. Cant wait too see that all together , although I would have kept the trim pieces white. Spoiler looks great enough to sell it for eight thousand.
