low gas light question

Easy.. just look at your gauge cluster in the right light where you can see all the symbols, and see if there's a gas pump one. I've read about people from 96-98 not having them, some claim they do have the light.

My advice? Don't rely on a light. When you see the needle pointing near the letter E, get gas.

I'm at work right now and can't check but i think if i turn my ignition on without starting the car it shows a gas light. Not comming on when the fuel is low, could it be a fuse? I also don't get the key in the ignition chime.

no low light here.
Also when the tank is full or empty the pickup is in the same place, therefor if there is crap in the tank it will get sucked up regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank.

i test drove 98 gt vert last year at stealership
and few mils away from dealership, we ran out of gas. I was like "dude, WTF?" (since i was in passenger seat at the time), sales man was like "i didn't see the fuel light. gauge must be broken.."

We sat there 45min until someone from dealer came with gascan because this idiot salesman didn't know our car don't have low fuel light:nonono:

I thought this was an Urban Legend. I've cut open fuel filters from three of my vehicles before and never found any sand, metal flakes or anything.

whoops. read it on SN so it must have been true.

now I can run till the fuel light pops on without fear :D.
