Ok guys, you all really helped me in my last few problems that I posted a few months back. So I needed to ask everyone again for their help.

I have a 2000 GT Convertable with a 4.6 L windsor block, mostly stock but I have a MAC Catback and a BBK cold air intake. I still have the factory MAF, but I am having a problem when I start the car. It does not happen everytime, and i am not getting any MIL lights "yet", but it wants to do nothing but stall. When this happens it idle's at aprox. 500 RPM. I have also gotten an ocasional exhaust pop under heavy acceleration.

So there it is folks, I need help, in a bad way. I want to get this fixed but I don't want to just dump money at it. I want to know the problem and how to fix it.

It has been suggested to me that this may be the MAF letting go, but i want to be certain before I do anything.

Any suggest or ideas are more than welcome. Thank you in advance.

try cleaning you IAC out, or just go to Ford and have it replaced. Autozone or someplace like that should sell Motorcraft IAC's, so you could also go buy it yourself and replace yours. It is EXTREMELY easy to do, shouldnt take any more than 10 minutes. I have had to replace mine 2 times already, but both were under warranty. It definetly sounds like the IAC though.

Thank you, for the info, but i have one probably stupid question.

What is the IAC?

I agree its the iac, I paid 51.99 at napa, try cleaning it with some carb cleaner first, if it helps you know its the iac and can go ahead and replace because its gonna mess up again eventually. Its located on the front of the upper intake plenum, it looks like a cylinder and has one wire and one hose running to it.
