Lower Intake Gasket??

I have read about how on the lower intake some people use the little rubber gaskets, some use RTV only, and some use RTV AND the gaskets. Which color of RTV is best if I was going to use the RTV alone on the ends...is it the ultra blue?

I use Ultra Black. But only use a little bit, because excess will squeeze into the intake port when you torque the manifold.

still only use a little if Im using the RTV only? Cause I have also read on here said use a nice size 3/8 bead...cause there is like an 1/8" gap there right now

You're referring to the two end gaskets where the intake meets the block, right? Just lay down a nice thick bead of black RTV, so the intake will seal when you set it down against the heads. Some do have luck with the cork or rubber gaskets, but I like knowing it's not going to leak the first time. There's a guy in 94-95 who swears by using them, but he's found a method to keep them from blowing off. Use some weatherstripping adhesive to stick them to the block, then put the intake on.

yah u need a descent bead. let it setup for 24hrs before firing the car.

I bought the Felpro MS93334 one and it also leaked a little around the larger gaskets near the top also. Is there a better gasket set I can get for this?

If you can find the rubber "U" channel gaskets, then you won't need to use silicone.
Just make sure they actually seal against the intake...
