Roughly how low can you lower your late-model mustang before it needs caster/camber plates. Or do you only know by first hand experience? Specifically for a 1.5" drop, since that seems to be the most popular around here. Downsides to such a modification? Thanks.

Please don't make this a lame thread with pointless comments. I'm starting a whole new thread just for that..

I used the Steeda lowering springs. They are not a 1.5 inch drop, but they did the trick and I'm very happy with the handling. It is remarkable that a single mod to suspension on these cars actually does so much; if it were not for the cheap Z rated tires (hard compound) the car would handle like it's on rails. Even so, it's very predictable and no longer feels squishy in the bends. It's only going to get better with 3 way Koni's on all 4 corners valved for the springs.

Now for the CC plates. I don't have them, and being that my drop is closer to 1.25 and I need them badly, should be an indication you'll need them for a 1.5. Don't pay too much for them either. CC plates are CC plates. Get the Ford Racing ones for $169 instead of paying over $200 for a brand name. Just started modding again after a long three years and I've finally got some on order. It will be nice to drive the car without always correcting for the right hand pull.

I'm not sure but I head that you need them for anything more than 1.5 drop.
