Doesnt seem like a whole lot of action on the Gt500 forum so I figured I would post here. I dont Like the jacked up look of my 07 Gt500 so I want to lower the rear. Ive heard of people doing only the rear. This question is really for anyone who has lowered there car. I read a thread (not on this site) that stated if you lower your car you need to use an adjustable Panhard bar(lowering the car pushes the axle towards the drivers side) and an adjustable upper control arm (lowering the car throws off the pinion angle).I have emailed BMR fabrication and Maxim Motorsports with this question so far. BMR tells me I will definately need the adjustable panhard bar and I may need the adjustable upper control arm. Maxim Motorsports tells me that the above mentioned thread is false and I don't need either. I have seen a few magazine articles with a how to and none of them mention having to use these parts. Just wonder from those of you that have lowerd your cars?

Not a GT500 owner but I am currently getting the parts together to do a full suspension on my wifes 2010 GT. I am getting all my parts through UMI Performance and even they say that an adjustable track bar is recomended (depending on how much you lower it). If you think about it the length of your track bar is set up at your stock ride height, dropping the suspension would alter the distance between your axle and tracbar mounting point pushing the axle over just slightly but this could affect your allignment. GT 500 is to nice of a car to not get the bar in my opinion.

You don't NEED the adjustable panhard bar or the upper control arm, but they are recommended.

The more you lower the rear, the more it will shift to the driver's side. I strongly recommend the adjustable panhard bar.

You can fine tune traction and driveline noise with an adjustable upper (if you're willing to put the work in) but it's not as much of a necessity in my opinion. By that I mean that an ADJUSTABLE UCA is not as much of a necessity. As far as I'm concerned, the factory upper and lower control arms should be replaced ASAP!

Thanks for the info Gents. I think I will start with just the springs and the adjustable panhard and see how that goes.

I lowered mine with the FRPP K-Springs and didn't NEED the adjustable panhard bar but as it's already been stated, the lower you go the further it changes your suspension geometry so I went ahead and picked up the double adjustable panhard bar from UPR Products. Figured it's a decently cheap investment to have everything just right.
