Lowering question

My girlfriend wants to lower her '97 GT, and I was wondering if she will need caster/camber plates to align after a 2" drop. I know when I lowerd my 92 I needed caster/camber plates, but I don't know about the newer body styles. Thanks!

I've read & heard that you don't NEED the plates w/ only a 2" drop but I got them anyway.

yes , i have 1.5 inch eibachs and i didnt get the plates yet , but i can see the wear , getting the plates SOON

They helped but I can't really tell you how much as I've never been w/out them.

General rule of thumb is anything 2" or greater needs C/C plates and alignment

That is a good rule of thumb. I heard it & used it about a yr & a half ago when I did my springs/cc plates/offset rack bushings.

yes , i have 1.5 inch eibachs and i didnt get the plates yet , but i can see the wear , getting the plates SOON

hey 2002blgt i'm getting the same springs installed this week. the guy wants $450 for springs and installation. does that seem ok?

i was told that more negative camber makes your car to turn better(as long as not excessive negative camber). 1~1.5 or so degree of negative camber that is

Okay thanks guys. Maybe I will suggest she get the Eibach Pro Kit, which only lowers the car 1.5". It's hard enough convincing her to spend money on her car, and if she finds out she'll need to spend another $200 on CC plates, there's no way she'll order the springs!
