I would like to lower my 2000 GT. These are my questions:

1. What equipment should I look into.
2. What's a safe lowering distance. (2"?)
3. How much will it cost me after parts AND labor?

Thx for your time and help!

you could prob get better/more responses in the tech forums.

things you need:
- springs
- new shocks (dont have to but def a good idea)
- caster/camber plates (depending)
- alignment

haha, ok i didnt really even answer some of your question.

i dont know how much it'll cost because it depends on the type of sprins and also if you get cc plates and shocks. BUT, if you have tools you can do the install yourself. i dont have any skill really w/ working on cars and a buddy and i did it w/out any problems.

and yes. 2in is a safe drop

1. Try Steeda/Eibach? H&R
2. I personally think 2'' is more than I'd go... Mine will be about 1.25-1.5'.
3. Depends on what you buy. Steeda sports are about $190... Eibach $230 (you get a bigger drop w/ Eibach)... as far as labor goes try to find someone local, or a bud that will help you do them, or do them for you for a few beers or some grub, otherwise you may get raped at a mechanic.

Hope that helps a lil!
