Well maybe later this month im going to buy a FULL mild steel tubular K member kit by PA with Coilovers, and all that. Now The cool thing is taht i can basically set my rideheight anywhere I want in the front (will drop it obviously lol) ...but what about the rear? I was looking at steedas products (their mag) and am looking at their "weight jacker" LCAs....they can drop the rear up to a full inch, but will that be enough? There is now way in heck im buying a full spring kit, as I dont need the front ones. So, are there any other choices? And do you guys think 1 inch will be good?

Ahh, ok...thanks Jacky. Im looking for every option I can get and then decide what I want to do. Im sure the LCAs would make the car hook alot better...but they are about $400 and man im out $500 for my LTs, $200 for my new X, $140 for my UD pulleys, $785 for the K member kit, and $200 for C&C plates. :nonono:

it would cause a more bouncy ride for that solid axle, they have lower rates for the rears. if you start cutting the coils you end up having a harder spring which isn't good hooking up

good enough jacko chano? :D
i know someone who cuts 1.4s on cut rears? ???

Modular depot would probable be a good place to ask then, im sure a few have cut the springs AND installed LCAs. Well that gave me a good idea jacky, I can buy the LCAs and if its not low enough I can cut the springs...brilliant (sp lol). I guess I should do it right and just buy the LCAs lol. Thanks man. I wonder if there are any cheaper adjustable LCAs, just for comparison.

Cody, you should look into a nice set of LCAs. i love my HPM Megabite Jrs. fully adjustable and i paid only $242 shipped from White's Pitstop, or somthing like that. i originally had it on the lower setting, but it was too low for me with my sportlines. they may be great for your stock springs though.

If youre looking to save a bit of money, Id just cut the rear ones. If you cut them with a cutting wheel, its not gonna change the spring rate as much as say if you cut it with a torch. Or you could go with what Jackie said, foxbody v8 rear springs. They'll lower you approx. an inch. If you are gonna use your stock springs and cut them, cut them according to your LCAs being at the lowest they can go. That way if you cut too much off, you can just raise the LCAs up to where you want em.:nice:

Ok, thanks everyone...What I am going to have to do, is buy the LCAs maybe a month after all this lol... If its not low enough we will just cut the springs like advised. Now about that, we want to cut ONE full coil off correct? I have heard that if you dont cut exactly one off, like a half a coil, that the spring will loose ALOT of strength. True?
Right now, I am lookin into the HMP MB Jrs...seems like a great choice, thanks Derek.

i dont know, but my turd is lowered all f'ed up and there is a groove in the d/s  I have to fix it next monday when I put my maggie dumps on. I need some fox body springs and lca's pretty soon.

hey hotmustang i wasgoing to do the same thing with the tubular k setup up front and i was going to use steeda sport springs in the rear.

however someone here said that with the coil overs it puts all the weight of the car on the strut towers, and sometimes they can crack.

now i dont know if im gonna do it, but i thought id let you know, cause i had no idea that this was a concern.

^Thanks man, and yea thats what i was thinking....thats why I have been asking over at MD what the best CC plates are. The steeda 4 bolt CCs look STRONG, I bet I can use them without a problem. I wouldnt worry about it as all of Tims turbo (1300RWHP and less) have a full coilover/tubular K front end that comes with the HP kit. I think the only time we would worry is if we were doing 3 foot wheel stands at the track lol...and if we keep away from HUGE potholes we are all good.
You seen the MD deal right? $785 for a PA kit with everything but CC plates, and seperate would cost $860 or there abouts.

Why do you keep asking over at MD? and keep advertizing them. This is the reason why people leave here. squares98, tomustang, or a buch of others could help you out for suspension questions anyway.
