I am looking into getting some lowering springs for my stang. My question is are there any other essentials I need. Do I have to get a bump steer kit?? Do I need C/C plates etc... I am looking at the steeda 1" to 1 1/4" lower. I have been debating getting drag springs for a while but I think I finally decided to get the lowering springs as long as I don't need to get everything else. I have the upper and lower control arms on order so I wanted to put in the springs at the same time.

With only 1"-1.25" of drop, you shouldn't need CC plates or a bump steer kit. However, with Ford production tolerences being what they are, CC plates are a posibility. I'd wait until doing the springs and then get a (mandatory) alignment. If the shop can't get it within specs, order the CC plaes then. You'll be okay driving on a close alignment. Just don't put any unnecessary miles on it until they get installed.

You shouldn't need a BS kit until you significantly alter the steering geometry through offset rack bushings or an extreme drop. It's extremely rare (maybe 1 in 2000) that a car with only lowering springs will need a BS kit.

Of course, since you're already pulling the springs, do yourself a favor and swap the struts and shocks while you're in there. It'll save time (and money if someone else is doing the install) and you'll enjoy the ride/performance a great deal more. My favorite? Bilsteins.
