Lowering Spring Question

I have been wondering about lowering springs. i have heard that if you lower your mustang you have to buy caster/camber plates to get it all aligned right. can anyone tell me if they are needed or what all do i need to know before i consider doing it. thank you

Depends on how much you lower.
usually with up to 1.5" drop you don't need CC plates.
Over 1.5" you usually do Most also suggest if you lower it plan on new shocks and struts.

what he said if it's not a drop over 1.5" then you don't need them but an alignment is needed. Now it it is over 1.5" then you will need them to get the full adjustment

I just lowered my 04 vert with Steeda 1.5 sport spring and I didnt use cc plates and it alined fine.

You should get the front aligned after any drop.

The advantage to getting C/C plates is not just so that you can get the alignment to spec but you can actually set it to a diffent and more aggressive spec that you just can't set it to in stock form. The 4 bolt MM plates are great and they give you a revised alignment spec in the instructions.

I know, and my question was do I need JUST a front alignment or should I get the back aligned too for some reason?

Generally, if you don't dropp more then 1.5", your not "required" per say. But i think its good idea to have them. you can tweek them more for better handring and stuff...

you CANT align the rear of a solid axle car!!!!!! unless you got an IRS cobra all you can adjust is the front. i'm an alignment tech for goodyear. trust me i work with these cars everyday. if you drop it get the plates. stock plates give about 0.5 degrees adjustment. M/M plates give you at least 4 full degrees. and the caster is adjustable independantly from the camber with the M/M. they are the ONLY plate that i have or ever will put on my personal vehicle.
